Using an integrative literature review of classical primary sources-including Ibn al-Shalah, al-Suyuthi, Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani, and al-Khatib al-Baghdadi-together with contemporary studies published between 2021 and 2026, the study addresses three questions: how the epistemological structure of Ulumul Hadis was formed through sanad-matn criticism; how classical principles can be applied to verify hadith in digital spaces; and what limitations and opportunities digital takhrij faces. The analysis shows that classical authentication criteria-continuity of transmission, narrator integrity, narrator precision, absence of irregularity, and absence of hidden defect-remain analytically transferable into a seven-step digital verification model spanning text identification, Arabic-text tracing, takhrij to primary sources, sanad examination, review of scholarly assessment, contextual analysis, and source disclosure. The study contributes a practical bridge between classical hadith criticism and contemporary digital literacy, while acknowledging its limitation as a literature-based study that has not been empirically tested.
selpiana, La Ode Ismail Ahmad, Abustani Ilyas Hak Cipta (c) 2026 selpiana, La Ode Ismail Ahmad, Abustani Ilyas https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.mahadalygenggong.ac.id/index.php/jmag/article/view/66 Sat, 15 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Dari Adonan Ke Doa : Telaah Tradisi Kue Plirit Pada Resepsi Pernikahan Masyarakat Desa Gerongan Dalam Perspektif Sosiologi Hukum Islam https://jurnal.mahadalygenggong.ac.id/index.php/jmag/article/view/72
Wedding traditions in Indonesia are not only part of customary practices but also a means of passing on social, cultural, and religious values to the next generation. The community of Curah Lele Hamlet, Gerongan Village, Maron Subdistrict, Probolinggo Regency, still preserves a tradition of serving plirit cakes at wedding receptions. The younger generation lacks an understanding of the philosophical significance of this tradition, viewing it merely as a dish served at wedding celebrations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the symbolic meaning embedded in the plirit cake tradition using symbolic interactionism theory. Additionally, this study examines how the plirit cake is positioned within the context of Islamic legal sociology from the perspective of “urf.” A narrative-based qualitative approach was employed in this study, collecting data through interviews with community leaders and a review of relevant literature. The results indicate that each component of the plirit cake contains symbols and moral messages regarding married life. For example, the texture of the glutinous rice symbolizes marital harmony; sugar and salt represent dynamics; the colorful appearance signifies diversity; and the wavy shape indicates the ups and downs of married life. This tradition also helps disseminate Islamic values through cultural symbols present in society. From the perspective of Islamic legal sociology, these meanings are derived through social interaction

Herlina, Adelia Irma Suryaningsih, Ramdan Wagianto Hak Cipta (c) 2026 Herlina, Adelia Irma Suryaningsih, Ramdan Wagianto https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.mahadalygenggong.ac.id/index.php/jmag/article/view/72 Sat, 15 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Women’s Socio-Political Participation In The Public Sphere: A Reinterpretation of the Hadith on Women’s Fitnah through Hasan Hanafi’s Hermeneutics https://jurnal.mahadalygenggong.ac.id/index.php/jmag/article/view/74
Abstract: Women’s participation in public spaces, particularly in social and political life, is often constrained by interpretations of religious texts that portray women as sources of temptation (fitnah). This study aims to reinterpret the hadith in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī no. 5096 concerning the temptation of women through Hasan Hanafi’s hermeneutical framework and examine its implications for women’s social and political participation. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study combines hadith criticism with Hasan Hanafi’s historical, eidetic, and practical approaches. The study finds that the hadith is ṣaḥīḥ, as its narrators are trustworthy (thiqah) and its chain of transmission is continuous (muttasil). However, its authenticity does not necessitate a gender-biased interpretation. Historically, the hadith emerged within a patriarchal socio-cultural context in which women were closely associated with family honor and social morality. Eidetic analysis indicates that fitnah encompasses trials, temptations, and distractions from moral responsibility, rather than referring exclusively to women. Through Hasan Hanafi’s practical hermeneutics, the hadith is understood as a universal ethical warning emphasizing self-control and moral responsibility. Consequently, it should not legitimize women’s exclusion from public spaces but support their participation in education, social organizations, professions, religion, and politics within an equal, safe, and dignified public sphere.
Muhammad Arfan Ahwadzy, Mohammad Bachrul Falah, Dwita Nurulita, Tutik Nurul Janah, Nur Saadah Hamisan Khair Hak Cipta (c) 2026 Muhammad Arfan Ahwadzy, Mohammad Bachrul Falah, Dwita Nurulita, Tutik Nurul Janah, Nur Saadah Hamisan Khair https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.mahadalygenggong.ac.id/index.php/jmag/article/view/74 Sat, 15 Aug 2026 00:00:00 +0000
